Three Wheels United: first vehicles on the road!

From now on, you can spot them in the streets of Bangalore; auto-rickshaw community members driving their very own clean vehicles! You can recognise them by the My Auto © logo. The coming months we will expand our credit loans to 60. In the summer we aim even higher: 100 auto rickshaw drivers who own a vehicle.
Three Wheels United
In order to improve their living conditions and reduce the amount of CO2 emission, Enviu started Three Wheels United in 2011. We developed a three pillar solution: financial services, additional streams of income and a clean technology.
Our Indian NGO partners ADATS, Subishka and WHAT and the Corporation Bank facilitate the loans.
Change in mindset
In order to create a change in mindset, Ram Esteves of ADATS, the Corporation Bank and Three Wheels United launched an event. The event was attended by local leaders, auto rickshaw communities from neighbouring towns, partner organizations and drivers from Bangalore.
It was a great success. One of the drivers even quoted: “’My Auto’ – in local language it is called ‘namma Auto’ gives me a feeling of great pride.”
