Enviu is the initiator of the concept and one of the founders of the Sustainable Dance Club B.V. With the Sustainable Dance Club Enviu introduced a new way of clubbing. Through a combination of modern technologies and fashionable design SDC sheds new light on how to live a sustainable lifestyle. Doing your part for the environment doesn’t have to be boring, and you don’t have to stop doing the things you love. Having fun and doing it in a sustainable way, that’s the vision of Sustainable Dance Club. The Sustainable Dance Club has now been implemented in club WATT in Rotterdam and is on it's way to conquer the rest of the world with the States soon to follow. As one of the founders Enviu is now shareholder in de selfdependent Sustainable Dance Club company (www.sustainabledanceclub.com).

The Sustainable Dance Club is changing the future of clubbing. Combining a creative approach with innovative technologies, SDC is enabling clubs and festivals all over the world to become more sustainable and inventive. By showcasing innovative solutions, SDC wants to inspire a generation of young people to lead a more sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle.

The SDC concept was launched in 2006. Its novel approach to integrating sustainability into business and new products such as the ‘flagship’ energy generating dance floor, captured the imagination of a worldwide audience. In response to this clear demand the SDC company was formed in 2007 using its expertise to provide three main services: consultancy, events and SDC elements.

SDC offers sustainable club solutions, providing creative and cost-effective alternatives to integral components of your club or festival, and the business itself. The 3 main product areas are consultancy, SDC elements and Events. Our range of services can be tailored to specific needs, whether that be a fully integrated solution or the hire of a single SDC element.

The Sustainable Dance Club is an initiative of Enviu and Doll architects. SDC has become an independent organisation in which Enviu holds a stock.

Targets

1) create a network of Sustainable Dance Clubs worldwide, starting in Rotterdam in 2008
2) develop the electricity generating dance floor further to harvest as much energy as possible and give the best experience for clubbers
