HELP! app
The HELP! app is a free smartphone application to call for help in case of an emergency. Just push the button and call 112 while people in the vicinity receive an alert on their mobile to come and help. You can save lives by doing this!
Challenge
The HELP! app is the winner of Our Mobile Generation. In this competition Enviu challenged participants to think of a smartphone application that creates a sustainable impact.
Solution
Together with Vodafone Foundation we developed the HELP! app. It’s an accessible way to encourage people to provide first aid in case of an emergency. The app is available in the Netherlands for iPhone and Android devices.
It works as follows: when you open the application and push a HELP! button, you automatically call 112. At the same time the app uses GPS to find people in the vicinity who also installed the app and are available to help. They receive the alert via their mobile phone and immediately see where and how they can help.
Impact
The HELP! app connects people to help each other in case of an emergency. Fast and appropriate action can make a big difference and even save lives! The Orange Cross supports our app. Do you?
