Our Mobile Generation
Mobile phones are an intrinsic part of our lifestyle. At Enviu we believe that they can also be used in a socially beneficial way. That’s why we teamed up with Vodafone Foundation tot set up a challenge for our community to co-create solutions for a more sustainable mobile lifestyle. We can do the same for you!
Challenge
With over 4 billion mobile phone users, mobile telecom is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. Although each year the waste of 140 million phones puts pressure on our ecological systems, mobile phones can create a positive social impact on consumers all over the world.
Solution
Together with Vodafone Foundation, we challenged our community to co-create solutions for a more sustainable mobile lifestyle. Over 350 community members participated and posted 100 ideas online. Other platform users could enrich these ideas. The HELP! app is the winner of Our Mobile Generation.
Impact
The HELP! app is a mobile application that connects people to help each other in case of an emergency. Fast and appropriate action can make a big difference and even save lives! We launched the app in December 2011.
