Sustainable Dance Club = Energy Floors
A new name, a new logo and a brand new website: Sustainable Dance Club has transformed into Energy Floors! As Sustainable Dance Club focused mostly on changing the world of clubbing, Energy floors is now focusing on creating more awareness about energy.
Challenge
Many people think that a sustainable lifestyle is boring. We wanted to prove them wrong! Doing your part for the environment is not boring at all. You don’t have to stop doing the things you love: clubbing can be done in a sustainable way.
Solution
In 2006 we launched the concept of a Sustainable Dance Club. Clubbing was meant to become more sustainable. Nowadays we rent out and sell products worldwide, such as the Sustainable Dance Floor and the Sustainable Energy Floor – which are human powered modular systems.
Towards the end of 2007 Sustainable Dance Club BV was founded and product prototypes started being developed. Originally, SDC/Energy Floors specialized knowledge led instinctively to activities such as consultancy work, event organization and product development. Over the years, they have grown as a company, so have their potential markets. Over the last 3 years the success of our products has allowed us to shift our main focus onto the sale and hire of these products, particularly the Sustainable Dance Floor and the Energy Experience.
In the beginning of 2013 Sustainable Dance Club changed it´s name into Energy Floors. With the product-launch of the new Sustainable Energy Floor modules, designed especially for walking and suitable for permanent installations, Energy Floors is moving into new markets such as public transport, architecture, exhibitions, education etc.
Impact
SDC/Energy Floors has realized over 300 temporary and 20 permanent installations over the past five years. They have worked for many great clients and reached a large amount of people all over the world. Dancing on the Sustainable Dance floor has not only generated a lot of fun, a rough estimate also shows that it has generated over 8 billion Joules. From now on Energy Floors will focus on creating more awareness about energy.
