For Bintang Ekananda, Enviu’s “start doing and fail fast” mantra has stuck on. He has applied this to the Enviu venture he leads, Alner, in Indonesia. Leading the 15+ Alner team, he wears many hats — from operations to sales, marketing, tech, and fundraising. He led the invention of Alner’s cleaning machine and the design of its reusable packaging. His primary focus is scaling the business and fundraising for Alner.
An engineer-turned-entrepreneur, Bintang holds a Master’s in Energy and Environment from the University of Leeds, which was fully funded by the Chevening Scholarship. Before his master’s degree, he worked as an environmental engineer for three years, where he learned about sustainability, its impact, and particularly about the plastic pollution crisis in Indonesia.
He was recognized as Forbes 30under30 Asia (Social Impact List) 2022 and Eco-Business Youth A-List 2023 as the co-founder of Alner. When back home, Bintangs plays the guitar and some football.
