Chile is a country with a lot of natural resources and a growing economy, creating enormous amounts of waste. There is increased attention from the government to shift from a linear to a circular economy, public investments to promote circular business models, and new legislation in favor of circularity. This creates a huge market opportunity! At Enviu we believe impact-driven entrepreneurship is key to create long lasting change: Our goal? Build world-changing companies to fuel this shift in Chile’s economy.
Local execution power
We have the experience and expertise when it comes to building impact-driven ventures with programs like Zero Waste Living Lab, textiles and leather in our track-record. But we believe the only way to do this is together with local expertise and execution power. We need a solid base to operate from, an office in the region with a dynamic team bolstered by local experts! In 2019 we opened up a Latam regional office in Santiago to drive positive change in the country and region. Our ambition is to run multiple programs in the upcoming years.
Creating a circular food economy
Through our in-depth issue analysis we found out several challenges in how Chile produces and consumes food & drinks. Chile’s linear food economy creates enormous amounts of waste and depletes natural resources. Climate change and traditional farming methods have led to water scarcity and soil degradation. In the meantime, small farmers don’t get the revenue nor the opportunities they deserve.
We are redesigning Chile’s food economy. We believe in a shorter fairer food chain that wastes less and delivers fair value to the producer.
How? By Developing 3 types of innovative business models:
- Value Chain Innovations: Such as farm-to-fork models radically shortening the chain and reducing waste.
- Sustainable Agriculture: Such as regenerative agriculture, enabling sustainable practices and services for small and medium farmers.
- Reuse & Refill Systems: Such as reusable packaging with a central recollection infrastructure, eliminating single-use plastic.
Our pathway forward
We are looking for experts, innovators, startups and impact investors who want to join us in our mission!! Does this sound like music to your ears?
Then we should definitely have a cup of coffee.
