Every industry has its turning point; a moment when old ways give in to new ideas, new collaborations, and new possibilities. In India, that moment is happening right now. And while it’s unfolding inside the country’s massive textile sector, the story is about something much bigger: people, systems, and the power of rethinking how we use the resources all around us.
Every year, thousands of tonnes of clothes end up in India’s landfills—items that could be reused, recycled, or transformed. Through our Closing the Loop program (supported by IKEA Foundation, H&M Foundation, and Alwaleed Philanthropies), Enviu and the Circular Apparel Innovation Factory (CAIF) have spent years designing a circular textile model that applies systems thinking to connect waste workers, recyclers, brands, and innovators – keeping textiles in the loop and people at the center.
Now, we invite you on a cinematic journey with the Closing the Loop documentary. The film highlights stories from India’s circular textiles industry, showing how sustainable innovation can create green jobs, support livelihoods, and strengthen communities.
This isn’t just about textiles. It’s about people, purpose, and the power of systems to create real, scalable impact.
